About Suzanne

My work often involves facilitating increased awareness for parents around their own trauma triggers. This assists in contributing a deeper understanding to their interactions with their children in order to avoid reactivity and maintain a close relationship.  I help parents, teachers and professionals who work with children explore ways of understanding and working with these triggers, using the Calmer, Easier, Happier, parenting and teaching strategies and trauma informed modalities.

The Calmer, Easier, Happier parenting and teaching approach was created by Noel Janis-Norton who is an internationally renowned learning and behavior specialist, with over 40 years of experience in the US and UK as a Principal, special needs advisor, lecturer and author.

The Calmer, Easier, Happier parenting and teaching approach includes a number of principles, practices, skills, tools and techniques which teach parents, teachers and therapists how to rapidly improve:

  • behaviour, cooperation, impulse control and transitioning between activites;

  • confidence, self-reliance and self-esteem;

  • the ability to handle uncomfortable emotions such as frustration, anger, and anxiety more constructively; and

  • learning academic and social skills.

I am an occupational therapist, family counsellor and certified practitioner of “Calmer, Easier, Happier” parenting and teaching.

I have over 25 years of experience advising professionals and parents and I am the mother of 3 children.

I offer workshops, I teach parenting, behavioural and classroom management. To parents and professionals. I offer in home consultations, telephone consultations and I liaise with other professionals working with families.

Learning about a trauma informed theory and practice has long been a passion of mine and also my commitment to bringing a somatic oriented approach to my work with families.

My work is most often focused on the impact of triggers and how they impact relationships particularly parent/child relationships.

"Suzanne’s Calmer, Happier Parenting workshop exceeded our expectations. Her insight and effectiveness while warmly and empathetically listening and responding to the young parents questions was evident by their responses and desire to request more time and sessions with her.
